SUMMARY
Operates machines to punch, cut, form, chamfer, clean, weld and assemble parts by performing the following duties. The job involves very light weight material and individual parts are less than three pounds. No exceptional physical exertion is needed to operate the presses and the facility is very clean and fully air conditioned. Job requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy over physical strength.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Follows safety regulations and reports safety violations to management.
- Inspect incoming from previous operation and outgoing parts to next operation for defects or errors
- Assemble grids from up to ten different part types to form a grid
- Lift and place incoming and outgoing parts by the work area
- Follows manufacturing procedures
- Count parts to ensure exact quantities and proper matching with order.
- Aligns parts in dies or positions them against fixtures on machine.
- Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.
- Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to management and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
